When we think of escaping into hinterlands we imagine expansive green hills and valleys, the ocean in shimmering distance, an abundance of fresh air, the sunrise bathing expansive farmlands into a golden light and cosy fireplaces to wind down on.

Set on a hill and yet tucked away in the Northern Rivers Hinterland in NSW, Hillside Carool, a former winery and now private sanctuary has all of this. It’s the venues elevated position, the expansion from a curated garden, pool and spa into rolling meadows and boasting rows of grape vines, that create a feeling of space. With a dedicated attention to detail, the owners created a homestead that invites to get cosy, to connect and to venture at the same time.

Elaine is the founder of citta collective. Being the host and creator of our retreats, as well as the Pilates teacher, Elaine connects the puzzle pieces of over 12 years in Pilates, Physiotherapy, Personal training and wellness event management.

In her unique classes she cultivates a Pilates experience that allows tuning into our bodies, uncovering and balancing out muscle imbalances, replenishing body awareness and accessing areas that need extra nurture through movement.

Each day of our retreat will be opened with a dynamic Pilates session, focusing on strength through core, glute, leg and arm muscles. We close each day with a restorative Pilates flow to lengthen, stretch and unwind. Experience improved alignment, posture, stability, mobility and deep strength.

All exercises in our classes can be tailored and modified to experience level, pregnancy, injuries and health limitations.

\\ nourish BY YUI YAMASHITA

With her roots in Japan, Yui’s food philosophy is based on holistic nourishment for body, mind and soul. Using organic ingredients and drawing wisdom from her Japanese culture and studies of macrobiotics, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, she created Uchimama, a Sydney based private chef service.

Through indulging in the retreat breakfast, lunch and dinner we will experience how Yui merges seasonal, plant based whole foods and produce from local farms with the knowledge of yin and yang to bring balance and longevity to our bodies, harmony to our minds, and gratitude to our souls. With the curated menu we are aiming to take a break from processed heavy food, eat with a deeper connection to the environment and give inspiration to create simple healthy meals and refreshments at home. Our additional cooking and matcha making class follows and celebrates macrobiotic and Ayurvedic principles.

Immerse into a relaxing massage or detoxing lymphatic drainage. With the intention to de-stress, release muscles tension and areas of pain, this healing touch, using curated healing oils, allows increased circulation, mobility and freedom in our bodies.

Our massages use acupressure on specific meridians in the body to stimulate the healing journey, focus on key energy points and enable deep relaxation. With the focus on individual body history and conditions this treatment will be a learning experience of self-care in a calming time and space.

\\ grow BREATH & ICE BY BENNY | SOL HOUSE STUDIO

Benny, the co-founder of Sol House Studio, is a certified Wim Hof Method and Oxygen Advantage Instructor. With an extensive knowledge from these methods and his work in emergency situations, he will guide us through a unique breath work and ice bath experience at the retreat, that will change our relationship to breathing and cold exposure.

A deep session of learning, understanding, feeling and exploring on how to utilise oxygen and cold exposure to optimise functions of our body and mind and how to influence stress, fear and deep happiness. Within this workshop Benny creates an incredible safe space, designed to tap into our deeply held emotions that our conscious body often blocks from allowing us to work through.

Welcoming everyone who is new as well as regular to breath work and ice baths - this session is nothing less than being a transformational experience.
